Cutter Operator

Position Summary:

The Cutter Operator is responsible for the set-up, adjustment, and safe operation of all cutting equipment to prepare products for packing, collating, or binding on Polar and Heidelberg cutters. While cutting the printed job, the operator ensures that each cut meets gang sheet specifications in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Access IMS program to determine priority jobs and workload for the day.
  • Place printed jobs on jogger to align and weigh according to specifications.
  • Align batch inside cutter and select appropriate cutting program.
  • Follow cutting program from largest to smallest measurement.
  • Monitor machine and make adjustments to maintain specifications and speed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine problems; notify Bindery Supervisor/Plant Management as needed.
  • Replace worn cutting blades using hand tools.
  • Maintain accurate press sheet logs, including dates and counts.
  • Record production and operational data.
  • Report any workplace hazards immediately.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and workstation are safe and operational.
  • Be available for required overtime.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year experience using Polar or Heidelberg cutting machines.
  • Accurate measuring and counting ability.
  • Knowledge of cutting programs.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Ability to safely use hand/power tools.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities.
  • Ability to identify safety issues and apply corrective actions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing/Walking (75% of shift)
  • Lifting up to 50 lb.
  • Bending/Twisting (50% of shift)

Working Conditions:

Warehouse/manufacturing environment with loud machines and temperature variations based on weather.

Print Machine Operator

Position Summary:

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating various machines, including printers, automated cutters, and hemming machines to produce banner products. Training is provided, but previous machine operation experience is required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform all functions related to the processing of customer orders.
  • Complete tasks assigned by supervisors or management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Ensure daily maintenance of machines and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment issues when required.
  • Perform other departmental tasks as assigned.

Required Experience / Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop knowledge (preferred).
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work with hands/arms.
  • Ability to work safely with moving machinery.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and a team player.
  • Punctual with excellent attendance; able to work overtime when needed.
  • Ability to differentiate colors for product inspection.
  • Strong common sense and strategic thinking.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision needed.
  • Strong time-management and workflow skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Education:

High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Digital Print Operator

Printing.coop is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our print shop as a Digital Print Operator & Finisher.

Responsibilities include:

  • Set up, run, and monitor print jobs on digital presses and wide-format printers.
  • Operate finishing equipment such as cutters, folders, laminators, and binding machines.
  • Inspect work for accuracy to ensure high-quality output.
  • Package completed printed materials.
